Moms In Prayer-Wednesday Fasts

So I have found this group of Moms that pray for our schools and they have begun to ask that we set aside Wednesdays as a day for fasting. I have to tell you that I have never been good at fasting. It is extremely difficult for me and I just don’t like it. Any one who knows me knows I LOVE food. Nevertheless, I am now fasting on Wednesdays. I am starting small, and today, it was no lunch and no adult beverage with dinner. I usually like to have one or two drinks with dinner. I have to tell you that it has been a real challenge for me today. I don’t know if this is Satan trying to break up what I’m doing with God or what, but I’ve been starving! I did not eat a huge breakfast and had a Starbuck’s latte…which I haven’t had in a while and I’m a little jittery. Anyway, our schools and our kids need our prayers and fasting is a way to break down spiritual strongholds or obstacles in our way. If you want more information, click on the links. I hope you’ll join me in Wednesday prayer and fasting!

Introducing a Worldwide Day of Prayer & Fasting

FernBlueJacket2 Moms In Prayer Wednesday FastsDear
Moms in Prayer Sisters,

It is with great expectancy
and a sense of solemn purpose that I have the privilege to invite you to
join me and headquarters staff to participate every Wednesday in a
worldwide day of prayer and fasting for the Moms in Prayer ministry.

Wednesday, October 3, 2012,
will be our first day of worldwide, extraordinary prayer and fasting!

There is truly an adversary
who seeks to devour our children and our schools. And he is out to
destroy this prayer movement. He hates us and he hates prayer, for he
knows that he is defeated when we pray.

In light of the times in which
we live, more than ever we are taking the mandate of Jesus very
seriously when He said, “When you fast …” not “if you fast.” Jesus
places great importance on this spiritual discipline in the lives of His
followers for the furtherance of His Kingdom.

Ask the Lord how He would have
you fast each Wednesday – perhaps sacrificing all food that day, or a
meal, or dessert, etc. Maybe it is fasting from television or social
media. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. Be assured the cost of your
sacrifice will be weighty in the spiritual realm.

Join us. Together let’s set
aside Wednesdays to humble ourselves, seek the Lord, turn from our
wicked ways and pray in faith, believing according to His will and His
Word for the lives of this generation and the schools they attend.

Could this be the very thing
that will bring a great revival and spiritual harvest to the nations?

Gracious, Glorious Father,
may the earth be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
as the waters cover the sea
(From Habakkuk 2:14).

In expectation of miracles,

Fern Nichols
President/Founder
Moms in Prayer International
